City Lit Comedy Course so far…

It’s been a few weeks now and after wanting to book onto over 100 courses I decided on a few essential ones at a time and to build up slowly.

The courses I decided on were a variety of skills I felt I needed to move to the next level. I had lots of ideas in my head but I just didn’t have the skills to get them onto paper, recorded or filmed.

It’s a different story now, though. I’ve learnt about editing video footage, how to create animation using flash, the basics of script writing and creating characters. I now understand how to create short comedy sketches for TV and radio.

But that’s not all, the next group of courses will involve voice overs as well as character voices for animation, creating story boards to help put across me ideas and understanding how to present myself in front of the camera in an interview situation.

What I have learnt so far has been priceless. I was finding myself procrastinating about these skills I needed. Trying to find people with them, only to then struggle to justify paying them all that money for things that created zero profit for me.

I now feel that I have a healthy amount of new skills, the knowledge cup is nearly full. I have the ideas and now I have the tools to make them happen. All I need to do now is… do it!
