Go Big or Go Home: Is the Underground Comedy Club going weekly?

The Underground Comedy Club’s last event in Dec 2014 was not a great one in regards to turn-out. Only 19 people, which was a real surprise as the previous events were almost full capacity.

The biggest problem is that not enough people know we exist and that they never seem to know which Thursday the event is on.

I chatted to a few comics and have decided we either call it a day or we increase the monthly events to weekly and see what happens…

After several hours of thought, I have decided to go weekly! phew. For a second there I thought it was game over for the Underground Comedy Club before it really got started.

So starting in mid Feb 2015 we will be going weekly. I’m excited and also rather scared. To add extra spice I have decided to reduce the ticket prices too.

It will now be £5 advanced and maybe £5 on the door. Sounds crazy, but I just want a full house every month instead of stressing about whether anyone will turn up. Yes the profit will be much smaller, though any profit is better than a loss, right? Also it’ll be small amounts of profit more often, than the hope of a bigger payout monthly.

I have decided that I will run the venue weekly until Aug (when the Ed Fringe takes over the comedy world) and make a decision…
