I’ve been advised to create a 1 mile radius around the venue (on a map not in reality, we do not have a budget for that yet), then drop off flyers in any coffee shop or art gallery etc. within that area. I’ve been told I should expect a 1 – 2% return on flyers handed out. So if I put 1000 flyers out I will get a return of 10 – 20 people.
Lets do the maths…
1000 flyers = £339.96
1000 flyers @ 1 – 2% return = 10 – 20 tickets
10 – 20 tickets sold = £150 (10 x 15) to £300 (20 x £15)
Net result = A potential loss ranging from £39.96 to £189.96!

I’m actually not going to hand them out willy nilly, I’m going to give them to select places and I’ll also use them in the event as a way of letting people know who is performing and who will be performing in the up and coming shows.
