New day, new course… or should I say courses

That’s right I’ll be starting ‘Voice Overs level 3′ and ‘Acting for Radio’ today.

Both 6 week courses are on a Friday. Shit, that’s my Friday nights out ruined! But I think it’s worth it, as the only way to get onto TV is through radio.

Also I really enjoy writing and recording audio stuff, so it’s all good.

I have no idea what to expect, but I do know I’ll be learning about the professional side of voice-over work, something I’ve been interested in from the start.

It would be great to be offered an audiobook voice-over job, though to be honest being dyslexic after a page or two of reading a grown-up book I would be absolutely exhausted.

It’s very difficult to explain to someone who can just read off a page with little prep that I actually struggle to read anything and everything. The amount of concentration needed to get those words off the page is insane.

Sadly, though, it’s true. The only way around it is to read through it again and again. That way I pick-up which direction the sentence is going and can then read it more thoroughly.
