Rules

All participants must read and comply with the following rules before entering their script(s):

  1. The competition is open to anyone and everyone. There is a minimum £5 entry fee per script. You can enter as many scripts as you wish.
  2. Keep the script to 3 minutes, which is usually 3 pages of writing.
  3. The comedy sketch must be written primarily in English.
  4. Scripts written by multiple writers are accepted.
  5. The script must be the entrants’ original work and must be owned by the entrant. The script must not have already being filmed and released online or on any TV channel.
  6. All scripts must not breach any third party rights, contain any defamatory matter or contain any quotation from copyright material without appropriate permission having been obtained.
  7. All entries must be submitted via the Dan Tambling Comedy website so that they are received no later than 23.59 BST on June 04, 2016. The deadline for receiving entries for the competition is final. No entries received after the given date will be considered.
  8. Dan Tambling Comedy does not accept any responsibility for late, delayed, damaged, ineligible, fraudulent or lost entries.
  9. The Dan Tambling Comedy judges will select a shortlist of up to 16 scripts. The names of the shortlisted entrants will be posted on The Dan Tambling Comedy website by June 11, 2016.
  10. The shortlist entrants will be given feedback and invited to rewrite their script and return it by the 18th June.
  11. If a shortlisted script is not re-submitted by 11.59 18th June then the original script will be judged.
  12. The names of the three winning entrants will be posted on The Dan Tambling Comedy website by June 25, 2016.
  13. The three winning entrants will be filmed and released on the Youtube Channel ‘Dan Tambling Comedy’ as part of Series 2 of the ‘12 Sketches’ series, ‘12 Comedy Sketches in a SHED’.
  14. The three winning entrants once filmed and released as part of Series 2, will be open to a public vote to decide which entrant will receive the £300 cash prize.
  15. A vote will be scored by clicking the ‘Thumbs-up’ button for the video on its YouTube page. Please note that all ‘Thumbs-down’ will not count.
  16. The voting on a video will start as soon as it is released on YouTube and will last for exactly 2 weeks, at which time the total number of ‘Thumbs-up’ will be recorded. Any ‘Thumbs-up’ received after this date will not count towards the total.
  17. Upon completion of the two-week period for the final of the three videos, the video with the highest recorded number of ‘Thumbs-up’ shall be deemed the winner.
  18. All entrants apart from the three winning entrants will retain copyright in their entries.
  19. The three winning entrants will release all copyrights of their entries to Dan Tambling Comedy in exchange for being credited at the writer of the script and be given a copy of the filmed sketch for their CV and showreel.
  20. Dan Tambling Comedy reserves the right to withhold prizes, alter the closing date, amend the rules or to cancel the competition in whole or in part if they consider it necessary or if the standard of entries so justifies.
  21. Dan Tambling Comedy reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in it’s absolute discretion if Dan Tambling Comedy has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.
  22. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering this competition.
  23. Dan Tambling Comedy will only ever use personal details for the purposes of this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission.
  24. These rules are governed by the law of England and Wales.
