Its Thursday again, crumbs these Thursdays come round quick. If you relax for a minute another bloody Thursday pops up, out of nowhere.
I suppose booking in over 100 acts over the last few weeks (for the next 4 months of comedy nights not for one night that’s just silly) is likely to result in a mistake here and there.
Sadly this means I now have to re-check every booked act just incase this happens again.…
Right back to tonights gig.
I had asked Paul Wade to do the MC part of the night as I was still quite exhausted due to my baby girl, who is now 24 days old. there seems with babies quite a lots to learn, and quite quickly. Especially as babies tend to not come with manuals.….. or refund receipts.
Tonight I wanted to try some intro music as a way of filling the gap, or more positively put. To keep the excitement going as the comic comes on stage. A bit like a diner party can be saved by the background music, filling in the large painful silences.…..
Obviously I’m not suggesting there are ever large painful silences at the Underground Comedy Club, I’m just saying.….….well anyway, It worked well, and I want it to be even more dramatic next time. Also I want more uplifting music during the intervals, so a re-shuffle it needed.
The acts were great, thought the room was not as full as I had hoped. though positive signs were that lots of people were coming for the first time, so hopefully if they keep coming they will over lap and boom the room is full once more.
